When an MCU trailer opens with a warning that “the following preview is rated TV-MA” you know you’re about to get something different from Marvel Studios. And in this case that something different is a violent, bloody zombie animated show that is definitely not meant for kids. At least not very young ones. Not when it features Captain America as a horrifying brain-munching monster. But if the series is as good as its new entertaining and gory promo, older kids and adults alike are going to love Marvel Zombies.

What If…? brought reanimated superheroes to the MCU. Now the walking dead are getting their chance to shine. Marvel Animation’s Marvel Zombies will follow the very few, still-human members of Earth’s mightiest heroes living in another dimension of the multiverse. They are their world’s only hope at reversing a terrible apocalypse that has infected most of the planet. Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discover the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world.

This trailer features some very fun shots of various Avengers living their best/worst zombie life. The show—created by Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells—also boasts an all-star cast. Many MCU stars are lending their voice to the series. It stars Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Tessa Thompson, Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Hailee Steinfeld, Wyatt Russell, Randall Park, Iman Vellani, and Dominique Thorne.

Marvel Studios encourages fans to “run” or “lurch” to watch the four-episode series when it debuts. It premieres on Disney+ on September 24. However, the Mouse House says, “definitely don’t walk” when it launches. And definitely don’t let young kids tune in. It’s best if they don’t think the Avengers want to eat their little brains.
