Hulu favorites like “Only Murders in the Building” and “Reasonable Doubt” are back for another round of murder-mystery drama, while newcomers like “Chad Powers” and “Tempest” enter the fold.

On the film side, there’s a new true crime documentary that blends fact, fiction and some paranormal activity. And there’s also a forthcoming adaptation of Walter Mosley’s acclaimed novel “The Man in My Basement,” starring Corey Hawkins and Willem Dafoe in a tale you have to see to believe.

If you need help tracking down what you need to add to your watchlist this month, the list ahead has you covered. And if you want to stay informed about all things streaming and entertainment, subscribe to the Culture Catchall newsletter.

Here’s what’s new and heading to Hulu in September.

‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 5

Our favorite amateur detectives are back to solve another murder mystery in Season 5 of “Only Murders in the Building”— this one, involving the suspicious death of their beloved doorman, Lester. Refusing to accept the circumstances as an accident, Charles, Oliver and Mabel again untangle a dangerous web of secrets that, this time, connects to powerful billionaires and old-school mobsters.

Returning to the show are, of course, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short, as well as Michael Cyril Creighton, Jackie Hoffman, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Meryl Streep. Joining them are Téa Leoni, Renée Zellweger, Keegan-Michael Key, Jermaine Fowler, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz and Beanie Feldstein.

‘Tempest’

One of the most anticipated K-dramas hitting Hulu this month is “Tempest,” a spy thriller filled with action, romance, political games and a conspiracy that “threatens the future stability of the Korean peninsula,” according to its synopsis. The series follows a highly accomplished diplomat named Seo Munju, who teams up with a mysterious mercenary to uncover the truth behind an attack after her husband, a presidential candidate, is assassinated.

The show stars Gianna Jun, Gang Dongwon and John Cho.

‘Reasonable Doubt’ Season 3

Jax Stewart has her work cut out for her again in Season 3 of “Reasonable Doubt,” which finds her representing a former child star caught up in a world of trouble that not even she’s prepared for. Amid all that, the high-powered attorney is also dealing with attacks on her personal and professional life that could threaten everything she’s worked for. Will she survive it all?

This season’s main cast includes Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, Joseph Sikora, Tim Jo and Angela Grovey. Among those recurring are Morris Chestnut, Kyle Bary, April Parker Jones, Keith Arthur Bolden, Richard Brooks, Pauletta Washington, Brittany Inge, Brandee Evans, Kash Doll, Rumer Willis and Lori Harvey.

‘The Lowdown’

“The Lowdown” is a forthcoming Tulsa noir series starring Ethan Hawke as Lee Raybon, a self-proclaimed “truthstorian” whose obsession with facts always gets him into trouble. When a suspicious suicide immediately follows the publication of Lee’s latest exposé, he knows he’s stumbled onto something big — but powerful forces want to prevent him from learning anything more.

The show’s cast includes Keith David, Kyle MacLachlan, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kaniehtiio Horn, Michael “Killer Mike” Render, Tim Blake Nelson and Tracy Letts.

Release Date: Sept. 23 on FX, on Hulu the following day

‘Chad Powers’

In this half-hour comedy co-created by Glen Powell, the actor stars as hotshot QB Russ Holliday, whose bad behavior destroys his career, forcing him to reinvent himself as South Georgia’s new QB, Chad Powers.

The show also stars Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez and Steve Zahn.

‘Blood & Myth’

A series of violent crimes that shattered a remote native village in Northern Alaska is the focus of “Blood & Myth,” a new documentary based on James Dommek Jr.’s 2019 audiobook “Midnight Son.” The film attempts to unravel the real-life mystery of how Teddy Kyle Smith, an Iñupiaq man who supposedly experienced a supernatural encounter, ultimately went on a violent rampage.

Before streaming the doc, check out celebrity.land’s interview with Dommek Jr. here.

‘The Man in My Basement’

Twenty-plus years after his novel, Mosley’s “The Man in My Basement” makes its way to the big screen for a twisted tale about a deal made between two strangers. When Charles Blakey (Corey Hawkins) falls on hard times and faces foreclosure of his ancestral home, he agrees to rent out his basement to a mysterious man (Willem Dafoe) offering up cash, unaware he’s letting in a force darker than anything he could’ve imagined.
