Netflix had previously announced that the second season would be split into two parts with four episodes in each. Part 1 was released on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, dropping the first four episodes. The final four installments arrived this Wednesday, September 3, thus concluding the sophomore season. There won’t be a Part 3 with more episodes.
However, fans who want to see more of Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams can rest assured that the series will return. Prior to Season 2’s premiere, Netflix had confirmed that Wednesday had been renewed for a third season. Showrunner Alfred Gough teased the upcoming installment in his recent interview with Tudum.
“Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can,” Gough assures. “We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday. We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!” he added.
When asked about what Season 3 has in store, Gough remained tight-lipped about the plot details. “Sure, but then I’d have to bury you in a shallow grave,” he gave a cheeky answer. Although the creators have not confirmed a release window for the next season, reports suggest that it might arrive sooner than expected.
Wednesday Season 3 will begin filming from November 2025, just two months from now. Hence, many speculate that the new season can get a February 2027 release. Unlike the three-year gap between the first two seasons, Season 3 might be arriving much earlier. Of course, the wait continues for an official confirmation from Netflix.
