Schenectady, NY (WRGB) — The Schenectady Jewish Community Center (SJCC) is bringing back its annual Film Festival this month, with events running through April 2026.

“Each year, we thoughtfully curate the finest documentaries, narratives, and international award-winning films that explore the Jewish experience, and this year is no different,” says Judy Ben-Ami, SJCC cultural and adult programming director. “We also have some incredible guest experts that will be joining us each time to discuss the film’s themes with the audience. I think those that attend this year will be very pleased with the lineup.”

The 2025-26 festival kicks off on Sunday, September 7 with a tribute to Gene Wilder. The discussion will be lead by Alex Rabinowitz, who’s amassed well over a million social media followers with his Pop Culture Brain pages where he dives into and dissects pop culture news, shares film and TV reviews, and more.

Joint CEO of JCCs of the Capital Region David Posner joined CBS6 in studio to talk about the film festival.
