Mark Consuelos revealed he will guest star on 9-1-1 season 9.
The actor shared details about his new role on Live With Kelly and Mark on September 2.
Mark’s first episode on 9-1-1 season 9 will be the show’s premiere on October 9, 2025 on ABC.
It looks like Mark Consuelos is leaving the world of daytime TV for a moment of L.A. emergencies.
Fans know the actor for being a current co-host on Live With Kelly and Mark every weekday morning on ABC. But Mark’s career originally started out in acting, and he continues to book new projects based on his work availability. Well, it looks like fans will get to see him on primetime TV this fall, thanks to a surprise announcement he shared on September 2.
As Mark shared with wife Kelly Ripa live on air, he is set to guest star on the season 9 premiere of 9-1-1 on Thursday, October 9, 2025 on ABC. What’s more, he gave some small insight into how his role is involved with the 118 in the first episode of the new season.
“You know, acting is my passion,” he stated in a clip posted on Instagram. “I got to do a few episodes on the show called 9-1-1. We can’t talk about any of the details, although I play a tech billionaire. His name is Trip and he experiences an emergency situation. So, he needs to call 9-1-1—that’s all I can say! It was a great time.”
Shortly after the news broke, it didn’t take long for 9-1-1‘s social team to express their thrill of welcoming Mark into the 118.
“Oooohhh, this is gonna be good,” the show’s official Instagram account replied.
What’s more, upon learning news about Mark’s latest acting gig on Live, fans immediately voiced their excitement about seeing him on the hit ABC series.
“Can’t wait to watch it!!” one person wrote in the comments. “Yay that’s awesome can’t wait,” another agreed. “I will see that episode congratulations Mark,” a different follower added.
Even though Mark couldn’t necessarily give away the premise of the 9-1-1 season 9 premiere, showrunner Tim Minear did in fact share some clues to Entertainment Weekly. Per his comments to the outlet, Mark’s character will be “swallowed by a whale, and a much larger adventure will ensue from that.” And while it’s unclear just how long Mark will play a role on the new season, this is certainly an emergency even the longest 9-1-1 fan might not have seen coming.
