Hulk Hogan’s net worth: Here’s how much the wrestling icon had in the bank when he died

The world was stunned just more than a month ago when professional wrestling Hulk Hogan died.

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died on July 24 from what the medical examiner determined to at the time to be a heart attack. A month later, though, and questions remain about just how the superstar died.

In fact, according to the Associated Press, the Clearwater Police Department said Thursday in a statement that the “unique nature of this case has required us to interview multiple witnesses and seek medical records from a variety of providers, and our detectives continue to do that.”

So, the story of Hogan, and particularly his demise, may not be over just yet.

What we do know about his life was that he was both beloved as perhaps the greatest professional wrestling figure of all-time — a character many young Americans grew up cheering on and idolizing — and also deeply flawed.

There were polarizing political moves across his final months as he backed President Donald Trump. That turned off some fans, but energized others.

There was also the whole Gawker sex-tape fiasco involving his then pal, Bubba the Love Sponge, and the shock jock’s wife. And, on that tape, Hogan rattled off a handful of nasty racial slurs.

That, too, drove some fans away. And that showed during his last appearance on WWE’s Monday Night Raw when he was booed by the fans in the building early in 2025.

But Hogan was far less polarizing through the majority of his characters run. And that was a run that began in 1977 and was not limited to just the squared circle.

He appeared in movies and on television as well and had a beer brand that seemed to be taking off during his last days.

There’s no question it was all highly lucrative, but Hogan had also been through a pair of divorces. So, that might lead some to wonder just how much the legendary grappler had in the bank.

Well, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Hogan had an estimated $25 million fortune when he died.

To some, that might seem low, especially considering Hogan reached a reported $125 million settlement with Gawker.com over that whole sex tape affair. But Celebrity Net Worth said that total was sliced all the way down to $31 million before taxes. And the site also noted that he lost “tens of millions” in his divorce from Linda Hogan.

It was during those proceedings in 2007 that his net worth was revealed to be $30 million.
