Daisy Ridley may have found her own Indiana Jones-like movie to star in.
Ridley is known for playing Rey in the Star Wars movies. Outside of the Lucasfilm franchise, she’s also recently starred in films such as 2023’s Sometimes I Think About Dying, 2024’s Young Woman and the Sea, and 2025’s Cleaner.
What do we know about the new Daisy Ridley movie?
According to scooper Daniel Richtman, Ridley is now in negotiations to star in an adaptation of Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant for Disney. Richtman reports that the plot “follows the irrepressible and lovable Delilah, a 21st-century Indiana Jones on a heist adventure.”
While this is only a rumor at this time, Deadline did report that Disney purchased the feature film rights to Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant back in 2016. The series, which comes from author Tony Cliff, originally started as a webcomic and was then turned into a handful of graphic novels.
“The story follows Delilah, described as a female Indiana Jones, as she wields her sword (trained in 47 sword-fighting techniques) and battles pirates and escapes on her flying boat while seeking adventures around the globe,” the outlet said.
At the time, Deadline said that Roy Lee, Mark Mower, and Justin Giritlian were producing the Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant for Disney; however, there’s been little to no news about the project since 2016, so it’s unclear if they’ll still be attached should this Ridley-led version truly be happening.
Ridley is also attached to star in a new romantic comedy movie titled The Last Resort. Directed by Donald Petrie, the movie will see her play a hotel executive sent to the Philippines for a resort location scouting. While there, she meets and quickly falls for a character played by Alden Ehrenreich, meaning she then has to decide whether to stay with him or return home.
