The Darkness guitarist Dan Hawkins has slammed the Video Music Awards’ all-star tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne.

Hawkins posted a clip of the performance to his Instagram Monday following the award show that took place at the UBS Arena in New York on Sunday.

“What a bunch of bellends,” the guitarist wrote on the clip that also showed footage of Ariana Grande’s reaction.

“Another nail in the coffin of rock n roll. Cynical, nauseating and more importantly; (expletive),” Hawkins wrote in the caption. “Makes me sick how people jump on this (expletive) to further their own careers.”

The performance saw Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne keyboardist Adam Wakeman join forces with Yungblud and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt for a rendition of “Crazy Train” and “Changes.” The trio was then joined by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry for “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”

Pop Crave stated the performance was the most watched VMA spectacle, garnering more than 1.9 million views on YouTube to date.

Other highly viewed performances were Tate McRae’s “Revolving Door” and “Sports Car,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Tears” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” and Dead Dance,” which was streamed from her show at Madison Square Garden that same night.
