Ten years after Hilary Duff released her last album, the “Lizzie McGuire” star has signed with Atlantic Records for her return to music.
Duff, 37, will also be the subject of an upcoming docuseries that “will chronicle Duff’s long-awaited musical return and personal journey, offering an unfiltered vignette into Hilary’s world,” per People.
Her fifth and most recent studio album, “Breathe In. Breathe Out,” was released in June 2015. The singer also posted about the announcement on her Instagram.
The docuseries will be directed and executive produced by Sam Wrench, who also led projects such as “A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter” and “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
According to a press release, the docuseries will embrace “the ups, downs and everything in between,” and promises that “fans will ride shotgun as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals, and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade.”
The docuseries will feature performances, stylized interviews and videos from her personal archive, per People.

Over the past decade, Duff has focused more on acting, appearing on “Younger” from 2015 to 2021 and then joining the cast of “How I Met Your Father,” which lasted for two seasons, per Variety.
The actress and pop star is also reportedly set to star in Hulu’s upcoming series “Pretty Ugly.”
Duff first gained notoriety as a teenager in the early 2000s as the lead in the Disney Channel show “Lizzie McGuire,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. She also starred in multiple films including “Cheaper by the Dozen,” “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” and “A Cinderella Story.”

Her first album, a Christmas album titled “Santa Claus Lane,” was released in 2002. The next year, she released “Metamorphosis,” an album which featured two of her biggest hits, “Come Clean” and “So Yesterday.”
