KANSAS (KSNT) – Film lovers across Kansas will join more than100,000 enthusiasts around the world from Sept 25 to Oct. 5 for the 28th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival.
The Manhattan Short Film Festival screens simultaneously across the world during a one-week period, with audiences voting on Best Film and Best Actor awards. Winners will automatically be qualified for the Oscars in 2026.

Ten short film finalists from seven countries will be competing for Academy Award nomination and screening for a week at The Parkway Theater in Oakland, California. The ten films are:
“Em & Selma Go Griffin Hunting” (USA).
“Al Fresco” (Spain).
“Chasing the Party” (USA).

“We Have Sinned Before You” (Israel).
“I Have My Reasons” (United Kingdom).
“Ovary-Acting” (Norway).
“Beyond Silence” (The Netherlands).
“Passarinho” (Mexico).
Kansas group preserves and restores historic stonework
There are six viewing locations in Kansas you can enjoy the films at, including:
Sept. 28 at The Brown Grand Theatre in Concordia.
Sept. 25 at the City of Lenexa Community Forum in Lenexa.
Oct. 2 at The McPherson Opera House in McPherson.
Sept. 28 at The Sunflower Cinema in Oberlin.
Sept 25 through Oct. 4 at the Glenwood Arts Theatres in Overland Park.
Oct. 3-4 at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library in Topeka.
