Vince Neil recently got candid about a serious medical condition he endured.
On Friday, September 12, the Mötley Crüe frontman, 64, gave an interview to the Las Vegas Review-Journal and revealed he experienced a stroke in his sleep on Christmas night in 2024.
“I had a stroke,” the rockstar told the outlet. “My whole left side went out.”
“I had to learn to walk again, and that was tough,” the singer admitted. “The doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again. I go, ‘No, no, I’m gonna do it. Watch and see.’”
Neil also detailed some of his recovery process.
“I went from people carrying me to the bathroom, because I couldn’t walk myself, finally to a wheelchair,” he recalled. “I graduated to a walker, and then I had a cane. Now I don’t need anything. But it’s like a full-time job getting back to where you feel good again.”

“It takes a while to get your brain to start moving your legs, for them to do what your brain wants to do,” he added. “You try to walk but it doesn’t come out right.”
In terms of getting back into shape, the musician said he worked with a Nashville-based football coach, who taught him some drills.
“I learned how to run again,” he shared. “It’s been tough, but I’m back, I’m 90-, 95-percent to where I was before, and it’s going to be great.”
In March, Mötley Crüe announced that they would have to postpone their residency dates at Dolby Live at Park MGM Las Vegas “due to a required medical procedure recently advised by vocalist Vince Neil’s doctors,” according to an Instagram statement at the time. The rock band moved their dates at the indoor amphitheater to September 12 through October 3.
