Did Eminem and Kid Rock bury their political differences to launch a charity in Charlie Kirk’s name, called “Charlie Kirk: From Debate to Great?” No, that’s not true: The article making the claim offers no credible sources and the timeline given for the creation of the charity is not practical. Beyond the questionable website publishing the article and the Vietnam-based Facebook page promoting it, no media organizations reported it.

The claim appeared on a post (archived here) shared by the RAP Devotees Facebook page on September 12, 2025. It opened:

Eminem and Kid Rock shocked the world when they buried their political differences to launch a charity in Charlie Kirk’s name, called “Charlie Kirk: From Debate to Great.” The foundation will fund and organize debate events at universities across the country–carrying forward the mission Kirk never got to finish.

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

The Facebook post caption continued:

No one expected Eminem to step forward, but when he did, his words stopped people cold: “Our political views are different, but when you look at the common ground, Kirk was a huge inspiration to young people. More than that, he was a good father and a good husband.” The moment those words reached Kirk’s widow, her reaction broke hearts everywhere…

The Facebook page, which targets American fans of rap music, does not have a good reputation among most who have reviewed it. Eighty percent said they would not recommend it, sharing comments such as “This page spreads false information through clickbait and should be removed by Facebook,” and “Everything on this page is fake news. No real citations.”

The page is administered from Vietnam, a country known for having a thriving industry of click-bait operations that use AI tools to fool Facebook users with made up stories.

The Facebook post linked to an article (we recommend you only visit the archived version here to avoid potential malware) that does not disclose from which country it is managed. It fits the pattern of others Lead Stories has investigated (archived here) published from Southeast Asia, primarily Vietnam, that use sensational fake content to gain traffic.

This is what the article looked like at the time of writing:

This paragraph from the article demonstrates why the story is not credible:

The duo, who’ve long been at odds over their wildly different political stripes – with Eminem blasting Trump in his lyrics and Kid Rock proudly waving the MAGA flag – announced the formation of ‘Charlie Kirk: From Debate to Great’ on Friday, vowing to organize free debate events at universities nationwide. The initiative aims to pick up where Kirk left off, empowering young people to engage in civil discourse amid America’s heated political climate.

It is beyond belief that two artists, who have well-documented political differences and contrary personalities, would suddenly collaborate. Since Kirk was killed on Wednesday and the purported announcement came Friday, they would have reached agreement on the partnership, developed detailed information, and coordinated the announcement in just 48 hours.

This would be an amazing story, if true. It is a suspicious story, however, since no other reports exist online beyond social media posts related to this article, according to a Google search (archived here.)
