Congratulations are in order for Reba McEntire and Rex Linn.
The couple confirmed their engagement during an exclusive interview with E! News during the 2025 Emmy Awards on Sunday evening, Sept. 14.
After referring to Linn as McEntire’s fiancé and her cast mate on the NBC sitcom, the country music legend said, “We’re having a blast on ‘Happy’s Place’ and so glad to be here tonight.”
Linn and McEntire first met in the 1990s but started dating in 2020 after reconnecting on “Young Sheldon,” in which they both had recurring roles, E! News reported.
The couple had attended the Emmys to celebrate the 40th anniversary of “The Golden Girls,” with McEntire performing a musical tribute.
“It’s a show that you can watch forever,” she told Linn, per E! News, before he jokingly chimed in, “If you’re not a fan of ‘The Golden Girls,’ it would be like not liking puppies.”
McEntire also hinted that she and Linn have been “pretty much inseparable ever since June 16 of 2020.”
“It was just like a magnet,” she told E! News while recalling of their first meeting amid the pandemic.
“We created an intimacy by texting and talking over the telephone that we wouldn’t have gotten if we’d have been together all of that time,” the Grammy Award winner said.
