Tsar B, the Belgian singer-songwriter and self-taught producer also known as Justine Bourgeus, has carved out a distinct space in modern music. A classically trained violinist, she blends electronic textures, dark R&B, and cinematic atmospheres to create songs that feel both contemporary and timeless. Inspired by Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi’s Lamento della Ninfa (“The Nymph’s Lament”), Tsar B incorporated the famous soprano vocal line into the chorus of “Amor,” while writing her own lyrics to give it a modern twist.
