Screen legend Robert Redford died on Tuesday, leaving behind a legacy that seems impossible to replicate. From handsome leading man to Oscar-winning director to independent film pioneer, Redford leveraged his success (and good looks) into a dynamic and fruitful career that spanned decades and showed tremendous range.
From his iconic starring turn opposite Paul Newman in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” to his visceral take on Bob Woodward in “All the President’s Men” to his swoon-worthy performance in “The Way We Were,” the man could seemingly do it all. He was literally Jay Gatsby!
Below, we remember Redford’s roles and legacy through the years.
