World famous Bond girl attending Herts cinema unveiling in 1991

Film fans had somewhere new to go and watch the latest movies 34 years ago this month when a silver screen icon brought some glamour to the opening of a Hertfordshire cinema complex.

A Watford Observer photographer was present on September 25, 1991 when Britt Ekland was the special guest for the opening of the nine-screen cinema at The Galleria in Hatfield.

The Stockholm-born star, who is now 82, starred in numerous films including Get Carter and The Wicker Man in the early 1970s before appearing as a Bond girl in The Man with the Golden Gun.
