A familiar face from Chicago PD is stepping into a new role alongside Tom Ellis in CBS’s upcoming FBI spin-off, CIA. The actress confirmed her involvement as part of the main cast, sharing the news with fans as excitement builds for the series’ 2026 debut.
Natalee Linez to join Tom Ellis in FBI’s CIA spin-off
Natalee Linez has joined the cast of CBS’s upcoming FBI spinoff, CIA, as a series regular. She will portray Gina Rojas, a CIA analyst who is an integral member of the team. Linez previously appeared in Season 12 of Chicago PD as Valeria Soto and starred alongside Tom Ellis in Tell Me Lies Season 2, in which Ellis played Oliver and Linez played Lydia Montgomery.
Ellis plays a rule-breaking CIA case officer paired with a by-the-book FBI agent. Assigned to the CIA’s New York Station, they tackle cases and threats on U.S. soil while reconciling opposing methods.
According to Deadline, CIA was initially set for a Fall 2025 premiere but has been moved to midseason 2026 following a change in leadership. Warren Leight, previously the showrunner of Law & Order: SVU and FBI: Most Wanted, replaced David Hudgins as the showrunner. Dick Wolf, Nicole Perlman, David Chasteen, Paul Cabbad, and Peter Jankowski serve as executive producers alongside Leight. Eriq La Salle also serves as an executive producer and will direct the pilot. Universal Television and CBS Studios are producing he series in association with Wolf Entertainment.
Linez’s additional credits include appearances in Power Book III: Raising Kanan, 9-1-1, and CSI: Vegas. Her casting adds another One Chicago alum to the ensemble, strengthening the series’ ties to Dick Wolf’s television universe.
Tom Ellis and Nick Gehlfuss will lead the cast, Michael Michele will play the station chief, and Linez will portray Gina Rojas, completing the main team of the CIA series. CBS will debut the show in 2026 as part of its midseason lineup.
