Amanda Seyfried is not holding back her feelings about Charlie Kirk after the right-wing podcaster was shot and killed last week.

The conservative activist was on the first stop of The American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University on September 10 when he was shot and killed by what police believe to be a “high-powered rifle.”

His death has caused an uproar on social media, particularly from the MAGA crowd, who have been mass-doxxing people who quote the pundit’s past hateful comments and divisive rhetoric. The Mamma Mia star made her stance clear on social media with a three-word statement, “He was hateful.”

The 39-year-old actress wrote the statement on September 16 in the comments of an Instagram post that pointed to many controversial statements made by the podcaster concerning abortion, immigration, the LGBTQ+ community, trans rights, and more, that he had made throughout his career as a public figure.

The post by @So.Informed was captioned, “‘Ask yourself, why is exposing the flaws of MLK’s life and character — something he said we should judge others by — so controversial?’ – Charlie Kirk, January 2024.”

Amanda also shared a post to her Instagram stories on Monday that read, “You can’t invite violence to the dinner table and be shocked when it starts eating.”

After his death, which is being deemed a political assassination, Charlie has been venerated by Republicans, including the president and vice president, upholding the media personality as a martyr for their party. Many people have lost their jobs after pointing out his past statements or criticizing the things he said when he was alive.

On Wednesday, she posted again to her Instagram stories, seemingly addressing the response she may have received for her previous posts. “We’re forgetting the nuance of humanity,” she wrote.

“I can get angry about misogyny and racist rhetoric and ALSO very much agree that Charlie Kirk’s murder was absolutely disturbing and deplorable in every way imaginable. No one should have to experience this level of violence. This country is grieving too many senseless and violent deaths and shootings. Can we agree on that at least?”

Amanda isn’t the only Hollywood star who has taken a stance. Actress Christina Ricci also weighed in, posting “Not to speak ill of the dead or anything, BUT…” along with a post that read, “Things to remember about Charlie Kirk: He said it was a mistake to pass the Civil Rights Act in 1964. He called MLK Jr. ‘awful’ and said he was ‘not a good person.’ He said gay ‘pride is a sin.’ He said the 2nd amendment is worth the cost of ‘some gun deaths.'”

Madison Bailey, Jameela Jamil, and Sophia Bush also spoke out against Charlie’s harmful statements in the wake of his death.

Many people, including MSNBC anchor Matthew Dowd and Washington Post reporter Karen Attiah, have been fired over their comments surrounding Charlie’s divisive rhetoric.
