Prince Harry thinks a sense of community is very “important” for children.
The 41-year-old royal – who has Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, with wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex – returned to the UK from his California home last week for a series of engagements and caught up with singer Joss Stone, to whom he candidly praised the British education system and sense of togetherness.
Joss – who has Violet, four, Shackleton, two, Bear, 10 months, and three-month-old Nalima with husband Cody DaLuz – spoke to the prince at the WellChild Awards in London about relocating back to the UK with her family.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “He joked about me having four children, saying it’s ‘two too many,’ or maybe it wasn’t a joke! He also asked about how we were settling back in and was genuinely interested in our move home. He’s just very warm and down to earth, as always. Maybe Harry will move back too. That would be nice.
“He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children. It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back – for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends, and a strong sense of belonging and most importantly in a safe environment.”
The Super Duper Love hitmaker praised the Duke of Sussex for his “lovely” way with her youngest child, who was with her at the event.
She said: “It was really sweet to see him after all these years. Harry was so lovely with Nalima – even though she slept through the whole thing! I will be sure to tell her that when she was two months old a prince cooed over her and said she was beautiful.”
Harry – who met with his estranged father King Charles for just under an hour while on his trip to the UK – declared after leaving England for a surprise visit to Ukraine that he hopes to spend more time in Britain following a successful trip.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “Yes, I have enjoyed the week.
“I have always loved the UK and I always will love the UK. It’s been good to reconnect with the causes I am passionate about. I have been able to spend some time with people that I have known for so long. It is hard to do it from far away.”
