If you’ve ever dreamed of hearing “action!” and actually being the one in front of the camera, your moment is coming — and no, you don’t need an agent or a dramatic monologue memorized.
The Creative Media Institute at New Mexico State University will host an open casting call for aspiring actors. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20, 2025 at Milton Hall, 2915 McFie Circle, Las Cruces, according to a community announcement.

Whether you’re a seasoned stage star or your biggest role to date was playing Tree #3 in your third-grade play, the doors are open.
Participants will be added to CMI’s actor database, which supports student-led film projects. No prior acting experience is required, and professional headshots and audition recordings will be provided. Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is encouraged. Audition sides will be provided, so no preparation is necessary.
