The 15 new pairings for the BBC One dance contest’s 2025 series have officially been confirmed
From this weekend, the sparkles, the fun and the impressive routines will once again be filling our TV screens as Strictly Come Dancing officially returns.
The new 2025 series, which marks the nation’s favourite dance show’s 21st year on air, officially kicked off on Saturday night (September 20) with the pre-recorded launch show.
The first show of the series saw Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman back in the iconic ballroom along with the show’s knowledgeable judges, Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
As well as revealing which celebrity contestants were paired with which of the talented professional dancers – including newcomers Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon – the launch show featured an epic performance from the pros – and the judges.
Jessie J, real name Jessica Cornish, was also the musical guest for the launch, while there was also a celebratory welcome back for last year’s winner, Chris McCausland.
The comedian, who made history as Strictly’s first blind contestant, was reunited with dance partner Dianne Buswell as they wrapped up their journey by reprising their tear-jerking Waltz to Liverpool anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone, which won them a BAFTA TV award earlier this year.
