Priscilla Presley has shared a surprising anecdote about the time Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll, phoned her while she was in bed with Robert Kardashian.
In her latest book, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, Priscilla recounts how her former husband called her when she was sharing a bed with her then-boyfriend. Robert is best known for his role as O.J. Simpson’s attorney in the 1990s and being the father to Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian.
After her divorce from Elvis in 1973, Priscilla had a relationship with Robert, and she confessed that Elvis would have gone “ballistic” if he had known about her whereabouts during that scandalous moment. Recently, she also opened up about another private time, her daughter’s death, calling it “the second saddest day” of her life.
In her new memoir, the 80-year-old icon recalls the night Elvis rang her up at 2am following a performance, completely oblivious to the fact that she was with Robert.
“It hadn’t crossed [Elvis’] mind that I might have been asleep. It had certainly never occurred to him that I might be with another man,” Priscilla wrote. “Despite our divorce, he still couldn’t wrap his head around my being with someone else.”
She added, “He’d have gone ballistic, maybe literally, if he’d known Robert was in my bedroom. Elvis always carried a loaded gun, sometimes more than one.”
Priscilla also admitted that Robert didn’t know about Elvis’ late-night calls, and Elvis didn’t know she was seeing the renowned lawyer.
“Fortunately, [Robert] was a sound sleeper, so I leaped out of bed and grabbed the phone before it woke him,” she penned. “I tiptoed down the hall to the guest bedroom and shut the door to listen to the familiar voice.”
Priscilla and Robert’s romance lasted about a year, just before he began seeing Kris Jenner, the famed momager.
“Robert was a sweet man, and I liked him,” she reminisced, acknowledging their different paths in life. “Robert wanted to get married, but I knew it wouldn’t work. I wasn’t ready to marry again.”

Despite the end of their romantic involvement, they stayed amicable until Robert succumbed to cancer in 2003. She revealed their final heartfelt exchange in the hospital was arranged by Kim Kardashian.
“He was the kindest of men, and I remember him with great affection,” she expressed.
Priscilla’s new memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, hits shelves on September 23.
