Anticipation is high whenever award-winning director Jordan Peele steps into the horror movie vortex. And the feeling is no different with his latest film, Him.
However, while Peele’s previous entries were scary good in the eyes of critics, his new sports horror thriller seems to be scaring them off instead. Per Rotten Tomatoes, Him has an opening critical score of 29% on the popular review aggregator at the time of writing. Should that score hold up, it would comfortably be the lowest-rated movie involving Peele ever, with his forgotten 2012 romantic comedy, Wanderlust being the next-closest title with a rating of just 58%.
