Alison Hammond had fans doing a double take after revealing her dramatic transformation. The beloved Great British Bake Offhost didn’t just lose 20, 50 or even 100 pounds — she dropped over 150 pounds, and she did it all without the help of weight-loss injections.
Hammond took to Instagram to share a series of photos dressed in a classic white tee, denim jacket and flowy skirt. With glowing makeup and styled ombre hair, the 50-year-old media personality looked happier than ever.
Fans flooded the comments with praise, with one writing, “Such an inspirational weight loss journey. Hard work pays off and you look incredible.” Another added, “Absolutely stunning, Alison. Always have been, always will be. You look amazing. You look happy. Go, girl.”
This Morning host’s health wake-up call came after being diagnosed as pre-diabetic, a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not yet high enough for a diabetes diagnosis.
At her heaviest, Hammond reportedly weighed 392 pounds, but she decided to take control of her health through balanced eating and a personalized fitness routine.
In an interview with Heat, she shared, “I’ve got a personal trainer – she’s amazing, she trains me when I can train. If I’m working, I don’t train, I’ll go for a walk. But when I’m at home, I’ll go and have a session with her in the morning, just an hour. It might be four days a week.”
Instead of following a restrictive diet or cutting out entire food groups, Hammond embraced mindful “moderation.”
“I don’t deny myself anything, I eat everything, but in moderation,” she explained.
Although some celebrities have turned to weight-loss injections like Ozempic or Wegovy, Hammond opted out. In an interview with Good Housekeeping UK, she opened up about her decision.
“I think that, for people who need to use them, they’re a good thing – but for me, as soon as I hear any scare story, I get frightened.”
She added that while she hasn’t wanted to use them herself, that doesn’t mean she’s closed to the idea in the future. “So I haven’t wanted to use them, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t in the future, and I certainly wouldn’t look down on anyone who did.”
As for how she resists the temptation of all those desserts on The Great British Bake Off, which she’s co-hosted since 2023 — she has a clever strategy.
In an interview withDaily Mail, she said, “I eat a bit of Paul and Prue’s after they’ve finished judging. I only try the ones that got a handshake from Paul or ones that won. If the judges aren’t impressed, I’m not trying it.”
