Blake Lively is looking back on her past fondly.
“The summer gossip girl turned 18…,” Lively, 38, wrote via instagram on Sunday, September 21, reflecting on the 18th anniversary of her hit series, Gossip Girl.
“This show was my college. It was my education, my social life, my hardwork, my late nights and early mornings, my teacher,” she continued. “New York City and Silvercup Studios (& sometimes Paris ✨) was my campus for SIX years.”
She added, “So many memories. What. A. Decade. 💖 What a University.” Lively also included a series of throwback photos from the show’s set, including a large ensemble photo as well as snaps with several of her costars, including Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley.
Gossip Girl, based on a book series by the same name, aired on the CW from September 2007 to December 2012. Lively starred as socialite Serena van der Woodsen, the central “it” girl of the series.
In June, Lively reprised the role while promoting her cocktail brand, Betty Booze. She even enlisted the help of her costar Zuzanna Szadkowski, who played Dorota Kishlovsky on the series, in the clip published via YouTube on June 30.
“I have tea,” Szadkowski says, a play on the popular fan theory that Dorota should have been Gossip Girl. (Badgley’s Dan was ultimately revealed as the mysterious student behind the voice.)

“Good tea?” Lively replies, to which Szadkowski answered, “The best tea.”
Szadkowski then pulled out a can of Betty Booze vodka iced tea and two cups. As she poured one for each of them, she added, “It’s crisp. Balanced. Nothing artificial.”
“That’s hard to find around these parts,” Lively added.
As fans of the show will recall, Szadkowski’s Dorota was the housekeeper and trusted confidante of Meester’s Blair Waldorf.
The Gossip Girl memory is a bright spot in what has been a difficult year for Lively. On September 15, lawyers for Justin Baldoni (Lively’s costar and director on 2024’s It Ends With Us) filed to bring on high-powered attorney Alexandra Shapiro as part of his legal team in their ongoing court battle. Shapiro, who is based in New York, also represented Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The legal discord between the two began in December 2024, when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment and running a smear campaign against her. He has denied the claims.
Baldoni countersued Lively, though that suit was dismissed in June 2025. Lively’s lawsuit remains ongoing, and the pair will meet in court in May 2026.
