With the Season 14 premiere of Chicago Fire just over a week away, the new fire chief is sporting a new look while out and about in Chicago. Dermot Mulroney may not play a cop, but he sure looks like one lately, sporting a smoldering head of silver hair and a matching salt-and-pepper mustache that his fans just can’t get enough of.
The 61-year-old actor shared his new look on social media, taking to Instagram on Saturday, September 20, with a pair of photos for fans to ogle. One picture featured Mulroney with sunglasses, and the other showed him without them as he posed in front of the Marina Towers in Chicago.
In the caption, he wrote, “auditioning my cop-stache 🤷🏼🤔 whadday’all think? It – and I – become available Spring of ‘26. entertaining all legitimate offers @paradigmtalentagency#goodcopbadcop“
It looks like Mulroney has some free time coming up that he’s looking to fill. In the meantime, it seems his fans appreciate him getting into character to show prospective casting directors the potential police role they may be missing.

If Dermot Mulroney needed an ego boost, he could certainly get one in the comments because seemingly everyone is gushing about his new look.
“Hello Handsome! ❤️” one fan wrote after enjoying his photos.
Another knew exactly where Mulroney was standing, writing, “Chicago represent! The Marina Towers on the Chicago River!”
“Love that you’re in the chi!” another exclaimed.
“The mustache looks great!” another shared as several other comments called the Young Guns actor “Handsome.”
Dermot Mulroney Is Returning for Season 14 of ‘Chicago Fire’
While his character, Battalion Chief Dom Pascal, doesn’t sport a mustache on Season 13 of Chicago Fire,we’ll have to wait and see if he has one in the new season. Mulroney is returning to the NBC series after joining last season to continue as the boss of Firehouse 51.
In previews for the upcoming season, he is not seen sporting a mustache. However, he is currently in Chicago, and the new episodes haven’t finished filming yet.
Taylor Kinney, Miranda Rae Mayo, and David Eigenberg, along with Mulroney, are returning for Season 14. Michael Bradway will not be returning. Daniel Kyri will be back for a limited time and recently shared an emotional goodbye to the series.
Chicago Fire returns for Season 14 on NBC on Wednesday, October 1 at 9/8c.
