“This Record Is Constantly Changing” – InMusic

Mark Ronson is giving fans an early glimpse into his new work with Dua Lipa. Speaking recently about their ongoing studio sessions, the Grammy-winning producer revealed that Dua’s upcoming material is still evolving, but praised her artistry and growth.

“This record is constantly changing,” Ronson said. “But I’m so amazed [by] what being in love and her relationship [bring] and how she’s just evolving as a songwriter and her voice is so incredible. That’s all I can really say.”

While Ronson kept details under wraps, his comments immediately fueled speculation about the tone of Dua’s fourth studio album, currently known as DL4. Just a few days earlier, Dua was spotted supporting Ronson at his book launch in New York. The pair have a proven track record. Their last two collaborations—2018’s “Electricity” with Silk City and 2023’s “Dance The Night” from the Barbie soundtrack—became defining moments in Dua’s career.

This latest update follows Dua’s own words in Harper’s BAZAAR, where she admitted her studio days are filled with experimentation. “Every day I’m making something that sounds completely different from yesterday,” she shared. “Trying to figure out the new direction is probably the most fun part, but it’s also the hardest.”

Fans have been eager for clues since June, when Dua confirmed in British Vogue that she had officially begun recording her fourth record. At the time, she described herself as “planting the first seeds” of the project, hinting at a slower and more intentional process.

Her return to the studio comes just over a year after Radical Optimism (2024), her third album, which scored her a No. 1 debut in the UK and a career-best No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Anchored by singles like “Houdini,” “Training Season,” and “Illusion,” the album earned high praise from critics and fans alike. Its accompanying Radical Optimism Tour is currently underway in North America, with sold-out stops in Toronto, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles.
