A rumor about Shrek 5 has surfaced online, claiming that the film will reintroduce Lord Farquaad in an unusual way.
Recently, insider account MyTimeToShineHello posted, “In SHREK 5, when the group enters the real world and gets stuck there they come across Farquaad (the villain from the first movie) who now runs a Shrek-themed amusement park like Universal Studios.” This follows years of speculation about how DreamWorks might revisit Farquaad, a character originally voiced by John Lithgow and eaten by a dragon in the first film.
DreamWorks set Shrek 5 for June 30, 2027, after delays from July and December 2026. The film will arrive 17 years after Shrek Forever After (2010), the longest gap in the franchise.
