Ryan Bingham Drops New Song ‘The Lucky Ones’

A whole bunch of people are about to hear Ryan Bingham play his new song this weekend when the Texas musician opens for Zach Bryan at Michigan Stadium on Saturday. Known as “The Big House,” it’s reportedly the third largest stadium in the world.

But ahead of that live performance, Bingham’s fans can take in “The Lucky Ones” now. The Oscar and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter dropped the new song on Tuesday, along with a music video. The track is driven by Bingham’s raspy voice and some strummed acoustic guitar, before the Texas Gentlemen — the all-star collective of players from the Lone Star State — join in with piano and a wall of Western sound.

“The Lucky Ones,” written by Bingham’s friend Cody Huggins, and the high-profile tour stop with Bryan preview Bingham’s upcoming headlining tour, kicking off Oct. 13 at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia. As on the new song, he’ll be backed by the Texas Gentlemen.

“I am absolutely fired up about this album and our next run of tour dates,” Bingham said in a statement, foreshadowing an upcoming new album. “The Texas Gentlemen are a blast and our friend Cody couldn’t have written a better song than ‘The Lucky Ones’ to relate to our way of life, love, and loss. It takes a whole lot of luck to get down the road.”

According to a release, Bingham’s tour will feature two sets each night from Bingham and the Texas Gentlemen, with a 30-minute intermission.

Bingham has been at the fore of the cowboy renaissance in country music, and across the world. He told Rolling Stone about a memorable tour of Europe in a 2024 interview. “People were going crazy for it over there. You’re in Dublin, Ireland, seeing people wearing cowboy hats and stuff and you’re just going, ‘Wow, what a turn of events, and on a global level,’” he said. “It wasn’t cool to be country or wear a cowboy hat, and then all of a sudden it was.”
