The Alex Price Trio will perform fiddle tunes from 18th and 19th Century America Oct. 7 when the Tuesday Noon Recital Series resumes at First Lutheran Church, 415 Vine St., Johnstown.

“The recital series presents some of the area’s best musicians,” Chairman George Fattman said in a statement. “Alex Price, for example, is the busiest and most versatile musician I know, but he’s always ready to put together a program that will appeal to our audience.”

Price is a multi-instrumentalist, a composer/arranger and an audio engineer. He has fronted a jazz-fusion group, The Inner Urge, and has covered auxiliary strings with songwriter Jason Gamble. He frequently works as a fretted-instrument specialist with orchestras including the Pittsburgh Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Wheeling Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony. His music has been licensed for use in films such as “Sustaining Grace” and Ana Lily Amirpour’s thriller “Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon.” He has been all over the world performing on cruise ships, including the Queen Mary II.
