Wurstfest 2025 guide: Live music, events at New Braunfels’ biggest festival

From live music to food and dancing competitions, here’s a rundown of the events and live music going on during Wurstfest, Nov. 7-16.

Admission prices vary. Fridays and Sundays are $20 at the gate, Saturdays are $30 and weekdays are free entry.

Special events

These events take place at Wurstfest’s main hub, the Wursthaus building, according to the event’s website.

Opening Ceremonies with Alex Meixner

Catch the storied opening event of the festival with the “biting of the sausage” and the tapping of the first keg, along with live music and more.

Waltz Contest

Test your dancing skills with this annual waltz competition on the first weekend of the festival.

Polka Contest

Another classic dance competition at Wurstfest, try your hand at polka in this annual contest that closes out the celebration.

Live music

Catch live music from German bands and musicians at these five venues scattered across the festival grounds, according to the event website.
