A$AP Rocky and Rihanna got the girl they were waiting for. The couple recently welcomed their third child, Rihanna revealed on Instagram: “Rocki Irish Mayers. Sept 13 2025 🎀”
Rihanna announced her third pregnancy at the Met Gala in May. Their new addition joins big brothers RZA, 3, and Riot, 2.
In late June, Rihanna played coy when Entertainment Tonight asked her at The Smurfs premiere whether she was having a girl. “Let’s see if it’s a Smurfette!” she teased, saying she didn’t know the baby’s sex.“Could be a Papa Smurf. Who knows!”
She was more sure about their child’s name: “It’s always going to be an R name. That’s the one thing me and Rocky don’t fight over.”
Rocky just spoke to ELLE in his new cover story about how the pair was “praying” for a daughter. “I hope it’s a girl. I really do. We’re praying for a girl,” he said.
“Our first time, we wanted to know the sex of the baby,” he added. “The second time, we didn’t want to know. Third time, we don’t want to know until, you know.” He had a good feeling though that Rocki would be their first daughter: “I feel like it’s going to be a girl. This pregnancy is so different from the other two. You can tell from the experience. I hope it’s a baby girl, man. I need that.”
Rihanna gave rare insights about her sons’ personalities in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar earlier this year.
“RZA is just an empath,” she said. “He’s so magical. He loves music. He loves melody. He loves books. He loves water. Bath time, swimming, pool, beach, anything. And Riot, he’s just hilarious. When he wakes up, he starts to squeal, scream. Not in a crying way. He just wants to sing. And I’m like, ‘Okay, here we go!’ He’s my alarm in the morning! He’s not taking no for an answer from anyone. I don’t know where he came from, dude.”
She revealed that it took RZA some time to accept having a new brother, “and at first Riot was understanding that his role was being the little brother. Now he knows he’s in charge.”
