“It’s just so overwhelming,” Jessica told Parade on the red carpet after her win. “Not only is this amazing moment happening, but I’m really close in my pregnancy of becoming a mother.”

Jessica said when it was just her standing on stage with Chris Turner while the two of them waited to find out who was the winner and who was the runner-up, she was remembering what she thought about the night before while watching the performances.

“I was watching and I was like, ‘Wow! This is just full of talent and I really don’t know what’s going to happen. I’ve done all that I can. We’ll just see what happens. So,  I honestly wasn’t expecting to win. I’m going to go home and have my baby and that’s my win. I’m just feeling so grateful that the Lord has blessed me with this opportunity.”

Jessica, who’s nine months pregnant is hoping to make it back to her Houston, TX, home before the baby arrives. She isn’t allowed to fly at this point in her pregnancy, so she’s being driven, which takes several days from California.

Then after the baby’s birth, when she’s ready to resume her career, she’s looking forward to her music being an inspiration.

“Coming back into music after so long, my goal was to really shift my mindset from winning Grammys – that’s the big dream – but I think there’s purpose behind it now,” Jessica says. “I want to inspire other people to follow their dreams and touch people through my music, so I’m just going to continue to write music and play music.”

Here’s how the night went down:

As usual, the results show opened with host Terry Crews introducing a review of the performance show from Tuesday night as the Top 10 were backstage nervously awaiting the results, but first they had to get through the night’s entertainment, which they were part of.

Performers for the night included Ciara performing her hit “Level Up” with dance crew Team Recycled; Leona Lewis joined by LightWire for a beautiful display of light and sound, Aloe Blacc accompanied by the Leo High School Choir for his song “The Man,” Manuel Turizo joining forces with Micah Palace, Journey founder Neal Schon supporting Season 19’s winner Richard Goodall on his original single “Long Time Coming,” Danny O’Donoghue of The Script reprising Jourdan Blue’s popular audition cover of its single “Breakeven,” and AGT fan-favorite trap choir Sainted combining with Mama Duke for a performance of her original chart topping hit.

Then Terry got down to the real business of the night: the results.

Terry kept it going by calling up Jessica Sanchez and Steve Ray Ladson. The act taking the third spot in the Top 5 was Jessica Sanchez.

Micah Palace and Jourdan Blue were the fourth artists to get their results. After the votes were counted, Jourdan Blue moved into the Top 5.

The final spot was decided between Leo High School Choir and Team Recycled. The act taking the last spot was Leo High School Choir.

Then Terry announced the breakdown for the Top 5:

Fifth place: LightWire
Fourth place: Leo High School Choir
