In the season 24 premiere, the semifinalists all compete to make the final 20 contestants in Chef Ramsey’s kitchen. In Hell’s Kitchen, contestants compete in challenges to earn the opportunity to cook for Chef Ramsey. From challenges to dinner service, each contestant works to avoid elimination and make the final service.

This season’s theme is “Battle of the States” with contestants representing every state. The initial batch of contestants started with 50 hopefuls from across the country. That group was whittled down to 20 heading into the season premiere.
