Glen Powell had to put his foot down in order to protect his image while mingling with someone deemed controversial.
The Twisters actor, 36, was a guest on the Wednesday, September 24, episode of Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast, where he shared an uncomfortable interaction he had at a Hollywood party that included someone who “had basically been on the ropes in terms of sort of getting cancelled.”
“This person had made some of my favorite movies, and I was like, ‘Oh, this is great,’” Powell recalled, being careful not to name the celebrity. “He came up and he said, ‘Nice to meet you.’ I was like, ‘Oh, dude. Such a big fan.’”

However, the moment got awkward when a photographer asked if he could take a photo of the two men together.
“This person was recently cancelled,” Powell explained. “I was a fan of their work, but not a fan of their choices. So, I was kind of just being nice. But then, when they wanted to take a picture … I realized very quickly. I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if this is a good idea.’”
Powell noted the person “clearly clocked” that he thought a photo was “not a good idea.”
The Anyone But You star ultimately “realized, this guy, his face is toxic,” adding, ”going out into the world, people are having a visceral reaction to this person in terms of the bad choice they’ve made.”
