Alice Cooper Band guitarist Glen Buxton may have passed away in 1997 at the age of 49, but Buxton’s unique electric guitar sounds are alive and well on Cooper’s 2025 release The Revenge of Alice Cooper, thanks to salvaged outtakes from the band’s studio sessions. Buxton appears on two songs on Cooper’s latest release, and now the band has dropped its first video in support of the record, “See You on the Other Side,” which drummer Neil Smith wrote as a tribute to the band’s former guitarist.

The band shared the “See You on the Other Side” video with a social media announcement captioned, “Very excited to share with you all the new video for ‘See You on the Other Side’ – a tribute to the late Glen Buxton. More than a farewell, the track celebrates the spirit of brotherhood that has always defined the Alice Cooper Group.”

Fans React to Emotional ‘See You on the Other Side’

Fans had strong reactions to the more emotional side of The Alice Cooper Band.

“What a song, love so much, made me cry. I will see you on the other side. Will rock and roll the night away. Thank you so much, I needed this to hear,” wrote one fan. Another added, “Beautiful song for a talented man.”

Alice Cooper Band Pays Tribute to Glen Buxton

Buxton played electric guitar as an original member of The Alice Cooper Band from 1968–1974. Thanks to unearthed clips—and one 15-second riff—Buxton appears on two songs on the band’s first album in 52 years, The Revenge of Alice Cooper, which includes four of the five original members.

“His spirit was in the room with us the whole time,” says Bob Ezrin, the producer behind the group’s key 1970s albums. “We talked about him more than we talked about anything else, I think.”

Cooper and band members guitarist Michael Bruce, bass player Dennis Dunaway, and drummer Neil Smith not only talked about Buxton during their time making the latest album—they spent time listening to his work.

Dunaway explains, “I had a cassette of Glen and I, and Glen had an idea for this song he called ‘Astute Lobotomy.’ And that’s all he had: the title and this riff—definitely a fiery Glen Buxton riff.”

Dunaway asked producer Ezrin if Buxton’s riff could be worked into one of the songs.

“Oh sure, send it,” Ezrin responded. The album’s producer then made sure Buxton’s riff sounded good enough to include on the album.

The Revenge of Alice Cooper was released on July 25, 2025, and is dedicated to “our brother Glen Buxton.”
