As Diwali approaches, TV stars Ashish Dixit, Siddhi Sharma, and Stuti Vinkle share their favourite festival traditions. From vibrant decorations to family-favourite sweets, each actor brings their own special touch to the celebration. The talented Sun Neo actors reveal how they make the festival of lights even more memorable with their personal Diwali rituals.
Actor Ashish Dixit, who plays Kartik in Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, said, “I have so many childhood memories of Diwali! I remember my father would give me some money to buy fireworks. Back then, even a small amount was enough to get plenty of crackers, so I’d go out to buy them. My mom used to make homemade biscuits and cookies, which we’d take to a bakery to bake. Those warm cookies hold a special place in my memories. Every Diwali, these memories come rushing back. I sometimes wish I could go back to those days—visiting the bakery with my mom, eating the freshly baked cookies, and having fun with friends.”
Siddhi Sharma, who plays Gulki in Ishq Jabariya, shared, “Diwali has always been such an exciting festival for me! I celebrate it with my family; we cook and enjoy delicious food together. At home, we prepare all kinds of ladoos and snacks, and my absolute favourites are ladoos and chakli. These two are always the first to disappear because we just can’t get enough of them! Before we dig in, all the snacks are placed in front of Goddess Lakshmi during the puja, and only after that do we get to enjoy them together.”
Stuti Vinkle, who plays Phooli in Saajha Sindoor, said, “Diwali has always been a special time for me. I absolutely love the joy of shopping for beautiful diyas, lanterns, and all the little essentials that brighten up the home. My favourite part, though, is making rangoli—it’s like bringing colours to life! Each year, I try something a bit more creative, blending traditional designs with new ideas. There’s something so fulfilling about creating these colourful patterns that welcome positivity and joy into our space. Diwali truly feels complete with all these preparations, and I cherish every moment.”
Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya follows Vaishnavi (Brinda Dahal), an orphan who sees Chhathi Maiyya (Sneha Wagh) as her mother. Ishq Jabariya tells the story of Gulki (Siddhi Sharma) and her struggles to achieve her dreams. Saajha Sindoor depicts Phooli (Stuti Vinkle), who is labelled an unmarried widow after her groom dies on their wedding day.
