It is a new era of 60 Minutes, as the staple of American news journalism returns for its 58th season, which airs on CBS at 7:30 p.m. ET. The show premiered in 1968 almost to the day. This important puzzle piece to informing the public is entering a new era this year. Billow Owens was a producer of the program starting in 2019. Owens resigned from the post in 2025 citing concerns that he may not have the editorial independence from the network that once was established. Tanya Simon will now be the producer of the show. Simon is just the fourth producer in the show’s history.
