This immersive Las Vegas experience will put you right into a horror movie

Universal Horror Unleashed is a 110,000-square-foot haunted attraction in Las Vegas.

In the heart of Las Vegas, a new attraction has emerged that promises to keep the fear alive all year long. Universal Horror Unleashed, the first permanent horror-themed experience from Universal Destinations & Experiences, officially opened its doors in the immersive AREA15 entertainment district and it’s already being hailed as a must-visit for horror fans.

Set within a repurposed warehouse, Universal Horror Unleashed is not a typical haunted house. It’s a living horror anthology, blending immersive storytelling, classic horror lore, and movie-level set design into one continuous nightmare. Universal has long been known for its seasonal Halloween Horror Nights, but this marks the studio’s first permanent horror attraction, and it’s every bit as terrifying as fans hoped.

Universal scares in Las Vegas

The attraction features four fully-themed haunted houses with each one grounded in either iconic Universal properties or original horror concepts.

  • Scarecrow: The Reaping drops guests into a Depression-era farmland where the land has turned against its harvesters and the scarecrows have come to life. The atmosphere is suffocating, with eerie lighting, immersive sound design, and sinister, animatronic-filled corridors.

  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: This house brings the infamous Sawyer family to Las Vegas in a recreation of parts of the film. Leatherface’s roar and the buzz of his chainsaw are never far behind, making every step feel like a mistake.

  • Universal Monsters: This house plunges visitors into a black-and-white horror fantasy where Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, and the Wolf Man are brought to life through cutting-edge effects and a reverence for the classics.

  • Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer is perhaps the most psychologically disturbing. Demonic possessions unfold in real-time, with practical effects and unnerving soundscapes that burrow into the mind.

Each house is designed not just to scare but also to immerse. Unlike traditional haunts that rush guests through, Universal Horror Unleashed emphasizes pacing and dread, allowing the horror to settle in before delivering its next blow.

Beyond the haunted houses, the venue also features four themed zones with each offering its own horror-themed food, drinks, and entertainment. These areas serve as both a breather and a continuation of the horror narrative.

Highlights include Jack’s Alley Bar, a twisted carnival-inspired venue with blood-themed cocktails, roaming scare actors, and unsettling live performances. For horror collectors, the curated retail shop offers exclusive merchandise, strange oddities, and film-inspired collectibles.

Guests can also upgrade their experience with the “Haunted High Rollers” VIP package, which includes priority access, a dedicated host, exclusive backstage-style interactions, and limited-edition souvenirs.

Universal Horror Unleashed is more than an attraction, it’s a bold new chapter in horror entertainment. By planting a permanent flag in Las Vegas, Universal has created a place where horror never sleeps and nightmares are always welcome. For fans of Halloween Horror Nights, cult horror cinema, or anyone seeking a thrill unlike anything on the Strip, this year-round scare factory is a must.
