How much trouble can two brothers get into together? Netflix tests that question with its latest crime series, Black Rabbit, which the streamer bills as a “propulsive thrill ride and character examination about the way an unbreakable bond between two brothers can shatter their world and everything in its orbit.”
The story follows brothers Jake (Jude Law) and Vince (Jason Bateman), the former a “buttoned-up” restaurateur behind the New York City hotspot Black Rabbit, and the latter a “screw-up,” according to Bateman himself. When Vince gets in trouble with loan sharks, he quickly pulls Jake into the criminal underworld with him.
In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Bateman added, “Everybody’s either got a sibling, or a friendship where you love being with one another, but it’s kind of dangerous; where that person usually gets you in trouble, but they’re really exciting to be around.”
As fast-paced as it is dramatic, Black Rabbit is a wild ride—and there’s a good chance you’ve seen some of the cast members in action before. Below, we take you through a who’s who of the Black Rabbit stars.
Jude Law as Jake
Oscar-nominated actor Law stars as Jake. When the series first starts, the character seems to have it all together: His business is booming, and he’s even thinking about expanding his Black Rabbit restaurant and lounge…until his brother Vince returns and things quickly implode.
“When you meet Jake, he has sort of turned his life around,” Law told Tudum. “The restaurant has become highly successful. He’s put aside his juvenile behavior and really taken the reins of the place and made it a success, and made himself a success—or so it seems.”
