Hallmark Channel may be best known for its Christmas movies, but as autumn rolls in, one new spooky film features three actors who have appeared on General Hospital.
From Port Charles to Halloweentown
Soap stars making the jump to Hallmark flicks is nothing new. In recent years, the romcom channel has starred notable daytime actors like GH’s Cameron Mathison, Days of our Lives’ Chandler Massey, and The Young and the Restless alum Hunter King.
Now, a new movie centered around Halloween will star a familiar face from Port Charles, plus two others who made memorable appearances on the soap.
Haul Out The Halloween premieres on October 11 and follows new residents of a small town who inspire their neighbors to whack out their spookiest decorations.
Ellen Travolta stars in the film as Mary Louise, but is best known to GH fans as Lois’ (Rena Sofer) mother Gloria. Travolta most recently appeared on GH earlier this year to try and reconcile things between her on-screen daughter and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) after everyone found out Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is the son Brook Lynn gave up for adoption.
The movie also stars Melissa Peterman — who is known for her roles in sitcoms like Happy’s Place, Reba, and Baby Daddy – but during a 2015 crossover between GH and Baby Daddy, Peterman made a cameo on GH as Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero) friend from Bensonhurst, also named Melissa.
Rounded out the cast that also features Wes Brown, Stephen Tobolowsky, and All My Children alum Lacey Chabert (Bianca), is Kimberly J. Brown, who is best known this time of year for playing Marnie in Disney Channel’s Halloweentown franchise. Brown hopped over to daytime for a short stint in 2021 to reunite with former Disney Channel alum Kirsten Storms (Maxie) on GH, where she played Chloe, a fake nurse who was working for Peter (Wes Ramsey).
