Ella Eyre is back with her newest single, “Hell Yeah”, just a few months after July’s release of “Space”. While “Space” explored emotional boundaries with a raw, soulful edge, “Hell Yeah” bursts with playful, retro-soul energy, celebrating the wilder, more carefree side of Ella’s personality.
The release is accompanied by a new video directed by creative designer Priya Ahluwalia, shot in an amusement arcade setting that captures the energy of the song. It’s the perfect match for a track that balances retro soul touches with a modern edge.
“‘Hell Yeah’ has been a fan-favourite for a while and I’m SO happy it’s finally time to share it,” Ella says. “It’s an upbeat, fun depiction of a wilder time in my early twenties when leading with my head and not my heart was a humorous battle. We’ve all been there when we can’t resist something, and this song is a punchy reminder to not let our occasional questionable choices weigh us down. I can’t wait to sing this one loud with the crowd on my tour in December.”
The single is taken from her upcoming second album, everything, in time (out November 21 via Play It Again Sam), which follows her 2015 debut Feline and years of reinvention behind the scenes. After vocal surgery in lockdown, parting ways with her label, and reclaiming her masters, Ella rebuilt from scratch. The result is a 15-track collection rooted in soul, R&B, funk, and emotional honesty, reflecting the full breadth of her artistry.
“Space” showcased Ella’s fierce, introspective side, with a frank exploration of emotional limits and personal boundaries. In contrast, “Hell Yeah” is vibrant and celebratory, highlighting her playful, confident energy. Together, the two singles give a glimpse of the versatility and range of everything, in time.
Ella will bring this new era to life with four intimate candlelit shows in December, performing in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Liverpool, giving fans a chance to hear her music in stunning, atmospheric venues.
Reflecting on her journey, Ella admits: “There’s been a lot of stop-start with my career. It keeps me up at night. But this album feels like something I’m really proud of. And the biggest cliches are sometimes the deepest truths: Good things come to those who wait. And even though it’s taken a long time to get to this place, I’m really proud of where I’m at.”
With everything, in time, Ella Eyre isn’t just returning — she’s fully reclaiming her voice, her sound, and her story.
