READSBORO — Mary Angus and Bill LeQuier of Readsboro Glassworks will be welcoming visitors to their glassblowing studio during the Vermont Crafts Council’s Fall Open Studio Weekend. The Glassworks will be open this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4 and 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Angus and LeQuier have been creating handblown glass and glass sculpture in their Readsboro studio since 1983. Their glass is exhibited in many galleries and juried shows nationwide and is included in numerous museum and private collections. On display and for sale during Open Studio Weekend will be carved glass sculpture by LeQuier and Angus’s handblown glass perfume bottles and bud vases, as well as the unique glass ornaments that the couple create together. The public is invited to stop in to see their handblown glass and glass sculpture and watch one of the glassblowing demonstrations ongoing throughout the weekend.
The Vermont Crafts Council publishes an Open Studio Map and Tour Guide with directions to participating studios. The Guide is available free on the Vermont Crafts Council website, www.vermontcrafts.com
Angus and LeQuier are one of 113 studios throughout Vermont that will be open during this statewide, self-guided tour. Readsboro Glassworks, # 56 on the tour map, is located at 6954 Main Street, RT 100, (lower level). Look for the bright yellow Open Studio signs directing visitors to the studio.
