TOPEKA (KSNT) – The 21st Annual Slash & Bash film festival celebrates all things horror and science fiction in Topeka on Oct. 3 and 4.
The Woodshed in north Topeka will host the festival which will present more than 10 horror and science-fiction movies and host costume contests, panel discussions and workshops about the ins and outs of the movie business, from makeup and costume design to acting and directing. The festival has events scheduled from 7 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 3 and from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.
Some events scheduled for the festival include:
“Changeling” – 7 p.m. on Oct. 3.
“Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” – 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 3.
“Black Mass” – 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 4.
“TerrorVision” – 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.

Many of these viewings are prefaced by an introduction by directors, actors, writers and others who worked on the films attendees will watch. Guests like Diane Franklin and Victoria Price are famous for their performances in cult classics like “Edward Scissorhands” and “Better Off Dead.”
