Nicole Kidman was not looking forward to the world finding out that she and her husband, Keith Urban, had split.
A source close to the family spoke to People in an article published Thursday, October 2, and revealed that the Big Little Lies alum, 58, has “been stressed because she knew the separation would eventually become public and she was dreading it.”
However, the source noted that since TMZ broke the news on Monday, September 29, the Oscar winner — who shares daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, with the country singer, 57 — has been “surprisingly level-headed and calm.”
“Now that it’s out she’s just focused on what’s ahead and her girls,” the source added.

Meanwhile, a source told TMZ on Tuesday, September 30, that Urban has seemingly moved on with someone else.
“All the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman,” the source claimed. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.”
As Globe previously reported, on Tuesday, Kidman officially filed for divorce from the former American Idol judge, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Regardless of the Practical Magic actress being the one to file, an insider told People earlier this week that “she didn’t want this,” and “has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Additionally, a separate source told the outlet that Kidman and Urban “have been living separately for a while now” and that those “close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable.”
