A fan favorite alum from the iconic ’70s show The Brady Bunch posted a sweet tribute on social media after learning of the death of the legendary Jane Goodall. Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady on the show, took to Instagram on October 2 to share her thoughts.

McCormick posted a simple black-and-white photo of Goodall. In the caption, she wrote, “Rest In Peace Jane Goodall.” She then included a quote from Goodall. “The least I can do is speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves.”

The Brady Bunch star shared the same photo and quote on her X, formerly Twitter, page, as well.

According to an Instagram post from the Jane Goodall Institute, the beloved conservationist died of natural causes at the age of 91 while in California. Her visit to California was a stop on a speaking tour of the United States that she has been doing.

As the Jane Goodall Institute noted, she worked for nearly six decades to protect chimpanzees and build support for species conservation of all types. She had scheduled appearances for October 3 in Los Angeles, California, and October 7 in Washington, D.C.

McCormick’s social media followers joined her in mourning the loss of Goodall.

“God bless Jane Goodall. Her legacy is eternal. Love you Maureen,” one fan commented on Instagram.

Another of McCormick’s fans noted, “#JaneGoodall was the Original Influencer.”

“An intelligent and compassionate woman. She will be missed,” added someone else.

“Wonderful woman who was not only a friend but a mentor to so many. Rest in Peace,” read an additional comment.

McCormick was one of many celebrities to pay tribute to Goodall after learning of her death. As Time shared, Titanic actor Leonardo DiCaprio posted a lengthy tribute to her, as did many others, including Michael Douglas, Jon Stewart, Jane Fonda, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.
