Why Taylor Swift Just Shut Down Rumors That Her Wedding to Travis Kelce Would Be Small

When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got engaged in August, the rumors of a small, intimate wedding immediately began to circulate. Well, the 35-year-old musician is here to tell you otherwise.

Swift shut down the hot gossip during her Oct. 3 appearance on The Graham Norton Show while promoting her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The talk show host wanted to know if she and Kelce would be getting married in 2026.

“Oh, you’ll know,” Swift laughed.

“So you’re going big,” Norton responded.

“I just mean that I was going to invite you to it,” she said.

He naturally flipped out because who wouldn’t want to be invited to the wedding of the year? “If you’re inviting me, it’s very big,” Norton continued the conversation.

“It’s huge,” Swift concluded.

That revelation should put an end to the speculation that the renovations she’s doing on her Westerly, Rhode Island, estate had anything to do with getting married there. “They are getting married next summer in Rhode Island. She is in a hurry to have children,” a Page Six source claimed in early September. They added that it would be a small, “private” ceremony with only close family and friends on the invite list. “It will be more casual than people think,” the insider said.

Well, none of that is true, and Swift wants to invite every A-lister she can think of, perhaps more in line with a royal wedding.

“I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble,” she explained to Norton. “And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that.”

The big invite list might also be a reaction to her secretive, six-year romance with Joe Alwyn. Swift was open very early in her relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end that she was going to love out loud with Kelce.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there, and we don’t care,” she told Time in December 2023. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
