Ben Affleck visited Connecticut over the weekend and decided to sample the offerings at Zeneli Pizzeria in New Haven.
Affleck, who was in New Haven for Yale’s annual Family Weekend – his daughter is a sophomore at the school – stopped by the Wooster Street restaurant Sunday afternoon to pick up a to-go order of two margherita pizzas.

Jeshar Zeneli, one of the three brothers who owns the popular Neapolitan pizza joint, said that in the hectic Sunday afternoon rush, he didn’t recognize Affleck until he was giving the actor his change.
“I saw him and I was so excited, it was surprising, I couldn’t believe my eyes,” Zeneli said. “He’s my favorite celebrity, because I always watch his movies.”

Zeneli, who said his favorite Affleck movies included his performances as Batman and in “The Accountant,” described the star as “very, very nice and very humble” in their brief interaction.
He added that Affleck was more than happy to take a photo with the staff, which the restaurant promptly posted on social media on Sunday.
“It was a pleasure to have you today Ben Affleck. Thank you for stopping by,” the restaurant, which recently was named one of the top pizza restaurants in the country by Italian experts, wrote in the post.
