Freida Parton, Dolly Parton’s sister, has asked fans to pray for the country legend amid unspecified health issues.
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately,” Freida wrote via Facebook on Tuesday, October 7. “I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
“She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine,” she continued. “Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”
Late last month, the “Jolene” singer, 79, announced she was postponing her Las Vegas residency by almost a year.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Dolly wrote in a message shared on Instagram on September 28.
The post also listed the revised tour dates with her December 2025 dates being pushed back until Fall 2026.

That same day, it was announced that two of the Dollywood amusement parks she co-owned with Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation had closed. The parks were both located in Georgia.
“These centers have played an important role in their communities, and we’re incredibly grateful to the hosts who’ve created so many joyful memories for families,” CEO Andrew Wexler said in a statement to WSB-TV. “This decision is in no way a reflection on the hosts or the quality of the experiences offered, but rather a recognition that Family Entertainment Centers operate differently than the types of attractions we are best structured to support.”
