It’s almost everybody’s favourite time of year, and no I’m not talking about Christmas. It’s Strictly Come Dancing‘s movie week! This Saturday, October 11 will see the return of the dancing competition’s film themed week, which will see the remaining 14 pairs dance to popular songs featured on screen.
Last week’s episode, saw Amy Dowden and Apprentice star Thomas Skinner voted out. Although, this does mean that the other couples will progress in the competition. This includes Youtube and Tik Tok star George Clarke and his partner Alexis Warr.
During the results show on Sunday, October 5, the professional dancer announced that the pair would be taking on a very trendy song in this week’s performance. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.
She confirmed they would be dancing to the song Soda Pop from very popular Netflix film, K-pop Demon Hunters, to which George, who didn’t seem to know the film or song in question, hilariously replied: “Yes… That’s fantastic news,” prompting laughter among his co-stars.
George who usually hosts the Useless Hotline podcast with his co-host and fellow influencer, Max Balegde, invited his professional partner on to the show to “break silence” on the series so far.
He explained on the podcast that he was glad that the producers didn’t ask him to retake the shot during the pre-recorded episode. Alexis said: “His reaction was hilarious.”
To which George replied: “It’s very accurate to me.”
Social media users praised the influencer for his honesty: “We love an honest king #Strictly.”
Another commented: “I can’t get over the fact George is dancing to soda pop from k-pop demon hunters next week his reaction was everything #strictly.”
One person added: “George’s reaction to his dance next week had me cracking up he’s so real for that #strictly.”

The pair continued to discuss George’s reaction to the song choice on the podcast. He said: “It’s just crazy, you know… I get the producers vibe with this. Get internet man to do the thing that’s like broken all records on the internet.
“I don’t know if they’ve chosen the correct internet man, I think, hey, we’ve said it before though, this is the third week in a row where we’ve gone, what the hell is George going to do with this one?”
He joked that he didn’t really know what was in store for this weekend’s performance.
George continued: “I know as much as you right now, I know as much as you. I know that it’s K-pop and it’s to Soda Pop.”
Alexis shared how confident she was in her partner, saying that this performance will take his dancing to a new level.
She said: “But here’s the thing that i want to say and point out, you have been taking like everything on the chin and just like embraced everything, and it’s like yeah no no take the compliment take the complement.”
